Manfred Sommer

Manfred Sommer Resalt (San Sebastián, 27 May 1933 – Galifa, 3 October 2007) was a Spanish cartoonist, illustrator and painter. A disciple of Jesús Blasco, he worked for the British market through the Selecciones Ilustradas agency, generally creating war and romance comics. In 1981, he began serialising Frank Cappa in the Spanish magazine Cimoc, at the height of the adult comic boom in Spain. Manfred Sommer worked for the Italian publishing house Bonelli, drawing the character Tex in Merchanti di Schiavi, with a script by Claudio Nizzi; L’ultima diligenza, written by Mauro Boselli, and Capitan Blanco, also by Nizzi.
